Joe Lieberman again tells Americans we don't have freedom from religion

Now, it's time for Atheists to set Sen. Lieberman straight on the facts!

Last Tuesday, Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Joseph Lieberman, in a "faith and values" lecture at Notre Dame University, declared once again that Americans do not enjoy freedom FROM religion, and that this is a nation firmly rooted in Judeo-Christian values. American Atheists President Ellen Johnson told the Los Angeles Times that Lieberman has his facts wrong -- the Constitutional separation of church and state does guarantee us freedom FROM religion, and that religion has been an oppressive and divisive force throughout history. Our greatness as a nation rests, in part, on the degree to which we have embraced the ideals of the Enlightenment -- freedom, Reason, and secularism.

American Atheists is urging nonbelievers and supporters of state- church separation to contact Sen. Joseph Lieberman and help set him straight on the record!
