The St. Louis,Mo. Chapter of the Malcolm X. Grassroots Movement along with Self-Determination, and N’COBRA have joined together to hold a 12 hour summit. Sister Johnita Obadele, National Co-Chairperson of N’COBRA has agreed to attend the summit. The summit will confirm the establishment of Economic Development Commissioners; and serve to provide a structured form to intensify our Demand for Reparations Now!! Information will also be available on the upcoming Jericho’98 March, for those in St.Louis who wish to participate.

Free The Land!! JOIN THE REPARATIONS TEAM IN ST.LOUIS (BLACK HISTORY MONTH) FEBRUARY 21,1998, FOR A 12 HOUR REPARATIONS SUMMIT

In stepping up the demand for Reparations and a Reparations Down Payment Now, the Reparations Team of Missouri is calling for 100 organizations, groups, families and individuals to come together for a 12hour Reparations Summit February 21, 1998. We want you to help confirm the appointment of a team of already acting Reparations Economic Development Commissioners and five Alternate Commissioners in the Midwest.

These five Commissioners were selected in January, 1997, by a standard Reparations Board of Directors, chartered by the state of Missouri. When confirmed these Commissioners should be recognized by all people, Local, State, National, and International Governments as legally appointed representatives on the subjects of reparations pay for slavery, economic development, and human rights violations. These Commissioners will write opinions and make recommendations to the people, Local, State, National, and International Governments. We need you to donate money to help cover the cost of the Summit. We need your help in planning and coordination of the Summit meeting on February 21, 1998 during Black History Month. These Commissioners must be confirmed on or before Feb.21st in order to be activated by Feb.25th, the day declared as Reparation Awareness Day by National Reparations Commissioners.

The Summit will start Feb.21, 1998, 12 noon to 3 pm at 4229 (rear) Fair Ave. This first session will consist of walk in registration, organization reports and recommendations, assignments and confirmation of the five Commissioners and accepting the Alternates. A second session will be held in Normandy Mo. at the North Oaks Bowl Banquet Room, 101 North Oaks Plaza, St. Louis, Mo. 63121 from 4pm to 6pm. At this session we will confirm and seat all Commissioners and hear from these confirmed Commissioners. From 6pm to 7pm will be a break held at the Banquet Room. From 7pm to 9:30 pm Local and National Reparations Leaders will give details on the functions and duties of Commissioners and the importance of passing the Conyers Reparations Study Bill and how the Reparations Down Payment Now will help us. A question and answer period of the Commissioners will end the Summit Business at 9:30pm. Social Activity to include music (D.J.), door prize,will end the event at 1am.
