- Union, Daewoo Shipbuilding agree to end
strike
- Asia Times, 30 April 1999. The union and
management of Daewoo Heavy Industries’ shipbuilding
unit agreed to end a nine-day strike. Agreement requiring
the company to scrap its plan to sell the shipbuilding
unit and instead attract overseas capital.
- Daewoo Motor Workers Strike Over Arrest of
Union Leaders
- The Korea Times, 26 April 2000. Auto
workers of the ailing Daewoo Motor Co. went on a general
strike yesterday to protest the arrest of 20 union
activists. Four union leaders are accused of obstructing
the operations of Daewoo by orchestrating the
strikes.
