[CND, 10/06/98] China on Tuesday slammed a plan for Japan and the
United States to develop a theater missile defense (TMD) program that
was to include Taiwan, calling it an anti-China
plan, AFP
reported.
The United States and Japan have tentatively agreed to start the program after North Korea launched a rocket, later thought to be a satellite, that flew over part of Japan in late August, but no final decision has been made, according to a Japanese government official.
