No pay cuts for Grenadian teachersCANA Online, 4 July 2000St. George's, Grenada, CANA - Grenadian teachers whose June salaries were cut by mistake will be reimbursed by July 14, the government announced yesterday. It said teachers who worked during a protest by their colleagues in May for increased wages did not receive their full salaries because of errors in compiling information on those who boycotted classes. "The machinery for the collection of accurate information on those teachers who reported for duty during the period did not function efficiently," a joint statement from the Ministry of Finance and Education said. |
