The first annual Beirut International Film Festival, which will be held next month, aims to give the local industry a much-needed boost and to make the city the cultural capital of the Middle East.
Organized by international fairs and promotions, the week-long festival will include screenings of international, Arab and Lebanese feature films, as well as television productions, documentaries and short films by aspiring filmmakers, culminating in an awards ceremony.
The festival will be held on October 18-25.
