Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Tuesday at the Damascus al-Shaab palace received the delegation representing the general secretariat of the Arab parties conference composed of: Dr. Ishak al-Farhan the chairman of the Arab parties conference in Jordan; Abdul Aziz al-Sayed the secretary general of the Arab parties conference from Jordan; Nawaf al-Mousawi the deputy secretary general and member of the political bureau of the Hizbullah party in Lebanon; Abdul latif Arabeiyat the secretary general of the Islamic labor work in Jordan; Muhammad Busheiha the secretary general of the people's unity party in Tunisia; Salem al-Nahhas the secretary general of the democratic people's party in Jordan; Fouad Dabbour the assistant secretary general of the progressive Arab Baath party in Jordan; Qasem Saleh member of the social Syrian party in Lebanon; Salem Hamzeh member of the political bureau of the al-Nahda movement in Algeria; Kamal Obeid member of the general secretariat of the national conference in Sudan; Munzir al-Alousi member of the foreign relations office at the Iraqi baath party; Safwan al-Qidsi the secretary of the Arab socialist federation party in Syria.
Discussions dealt with conditions prevailing on the Arab, regional and international arenas and the role played by the parties in the framework of the general secretariat of the Arab parties conference.
The President stressed the need of intensifying contacts between the Arab states in order to crystallize a united Arab position towards challenges facing the Arab nation.
President al-Assad also received at the Damascus al-Shaab palace on Tuesday Alexander Jarikove, the secretary general of the General federation of World Workers. Present at the meeting was the chairman of the general federation of workers trade union in Syria ezz eddine Nasser.
Talks dealt with the world workers movement and its continuously increasing role.
Jareikove stressed the stand of the world workers federation with Syria's causes in particular and the Arab causes in general. The President stressed Syria's care to strengthen relations between the general federation of workers trade union in Syria and the world workers federation.
