This is a Taino Elder from the Taino General
Council in Boriken (Puerto Rico). It was he who bravely fought the US
Navy on Vieques Island for the sake of land reform, and thanks to the
support of the Island community, he prevailed. He is best known as the
Elder who controls bees, for he called the bees and sent them to
attack the invading US Navy forces on Vieques.
Today he lives on top of the hill at Monte Carmello, his Vieques
mountain fortress.
